Abacus Tutoring
Private tutoring for Math and Computer Science in Frederick, Maryland
What we do
Abacus Tutoring provides one-on-one private tutoring in Mathematics and Computer Science to the Frederick County Public School (FCPS) Middle and High School communities.
We start with a meeting with you and your child to understand your goals and what you hope to achieve through tutoring. From there, your child will meet weekly for hour-long sessions tailored to their needs.
Each session is focused, supportive, and personalized — whether that means working through tough homework, preparing for an upcoming test, or strengthening the foundational academic skills your child needs to succeed on their own.

Why Abacus?
An abacus is one of the earliest tools created for solving mathematical problems. It is a simple, hand-operated calculator that only works with human touch and understanding. Unlike modern machines, it doesn’t do the math for you, it supports the person doing the thinking.
That’s the philosophy behind Abacus Tutoring.
We believe learning math and computer science shouldn't be about memorizing steps or programming kids to get the “right” answer. At Abacus, we help students think critically, solve problems creatively, and grow into independent learners — whether they’re tackling math basics or diving into computer science.
